Grand Traverse Resort & Spa Prepares to Open “Dylan’s Candy Bar”

ACME, MI, October 22, 2010 – Are you ready for a sugar rush?  That question sets the theme for Dylan’s Candy Bar, the newest store in the Gallery of Shops at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa near Traverse City, Michigan, set to open November 1 with the grand opening celebration on November 20.

Created by CEO Dylan Lauren, the daughter of fashion icon Ralph Lauren and photographer and author Ricky Lauren, Dylan’s Candy Bar combines her love of candy and passion for art into a magical candy emporium filled with color, music, fun, candy and gifts of all kinds for children and adults. Dylan is also the recent author of, “Dylan’s Candy Bar: Unwrap Your Sweet Life” which features mouthwatering candy recipes and inventive candy craft ideas that will appeal to anyone interested in living the sweet life.

At Dylan’s Candy Bar, the sights and aromas of candy from today and decades past bridge the generation gap, one piece of candy at a time. In fact it’s not just kids that enjoy candy; Americans over the age of 18 consume 65% of the candy produced each year!

Some of the significant features of the new 1,300-square foot store in the Resort’s Gallery of Shops include:

• Signature colors of turquoise and pink,
• An 18-foot Chocolate Wall - loaded with bulk and packaged chocolate,
• A 100-bin Bulk Candy Display in the center of the store,
• 21 flavors/colors of M&M’s®,
• 24 flavors of Jelly Belly® jelly beans,
• Three seven-foot tall Lollipop Trees, each with 200 lollipops in a variety of flavors and colors,
• An eight-foot tall Chocolate Bar Tree with over 700 Dylan’s Signature Chocolate Bars,
• A colorful assortment of candy-inspired apparel, souvenirs, and gifts.

The Resort is planning a Grand Opening on November 20 that will include a “Sweet-Stakes” drawing to win an overnight stay in a “Sweet Suite” at the Resort; no purchase necessary. Further details of the Grand Opening will be announced soon.
